Ukraine and Lest We Forget
My heart breaks again today as I see the Mariupol Drama Theatre, carefully marked as sheltering children, was smashed to pieces in this invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Yes, I can stop this horror by simply not watching the news, but Ukrainians can’t.
Over 2000 Russians have been arrested for protesting this war, while other Russian mothers and widows bury their sons and husbands.
While we seem to be able to bomb countries that don’t want us there, we, Ukraine’s western Allies, refuse to provide the needed air cover for Ukraine to better protect themselves. Have we become so useless?
What will we say on Remembrance Day this year?
